To take the photos and videos, I visited the Sand Sounding Village, Danxia landform, Yardang landform, Great Buddha Temple, Dunhuang, Qinghai Lake, Salt Lake, Milaripa Buddha Pavilion, and Wheat Pile Hill etc. More than the fragments collected in the past ten days over, what the trip has given me is too much besides the abundant feelings. The nature, humanity and others are shown in front of you. Our theme of the work is breath to express the countless relationships between human and nature, or the slightness of human compared to the nature in other meaning, and the exchange of matter and energy occurring at anytime.
Simply, clearly, the surface of the lake is calm and the sky is soaring. It seems that the law of nature is offended, but no abruptness is there. After law of nature, human geography, and law of society recognized, static and dynamic natural sights seen, noisiness and loneliness felt, who can understand you, or who can understand me?
There is only this one, in the wide Qinghai Lake, slightly seeming lonely, as like that of the wide life, although quiet on the surface, the heart has already been turned over.
MING SHA MOUNTAIN
Augmented reality and non-coplanar projection are adopted this time in the Plan A. We use models as the solids of projection, and when you put the model on the wall, you can scan it. When you scan with mobile terminals, you can see the information of every place visited in the trip as shown in the following picture.
Grey photos are used as solids of projection.
RESULTS AFTER SCAN
white clouds | water light | boats
old trains | plain lakes | vicissitudes
After the plan was made out, we started to establish the white box space. For the funds’ reason in the whole process, we paid 700 Yuan for the cloth in 1 meter width. Then we met the great difficulty that we should not only construct the steel bars structure, but also sew up the bought cloth according to the size of the site. So we went to the material market and purchased all the material required. Only the three of us took back dozens grams of cloth, steel pipes and iron wires by bus and subway for short of funds.
After scanning, photos of corresponding places, humanistic and natural scenery together with history, and what we saw, heard and felt in the trip were shown.

THE MODIFIED PLAN / 2014
For the limit of site and time, I had to modify the original plan, although this determination would waste most endeavor in the past. But to show the audiences a perfect effect in the end, I determined to modify it and abandon the non-coplanar projection with the Augmented Reality interactive method retained. I transferred the solid of projection from real models to frames and description in text under it so that different feelings could be gotten when travelling and feeling through this area. I set many scan points on the site and made marks at corresponding places so that the audience could interact with it in the magic experience by the pad we supplied.
THE MODIFIED PLAN
HOW TO UES IT?
Plan B is implemented at last. We set the picture frame on the wall.
We supply dedicated Pads on site and what you need to do are only the following two steps:
a. Stand at the point on ground marked by a black dot.
b. Take up the Pad and scan the black empty picture frame.
Put your Pad against the empty picture frame on the wall, and then you can see our photos and videos taken in the national research trip in the Pad.
Feeling Intensive / Operation Simple
IOS PROGRAM / PHOTOSHOP | 1 WEEK
In this installation work, every black frame represents one module, and every module is one work on a place visited in our trip. The elaborately selected photography works can reflect the local characters. Penetrable empty frames give people unlimited imaging space. When you see an empty picture frame on the wall, you can’t help thinking why there is nothing in the empty frame. When I presented such a plan, I just wanted to create an attractive environmental atmosphere by the empty picture frames so that the audience could concern the work in an exploration pattern.
The astonishments on site are far more than what above mentioned. The whole space is fully used and the members are all in black. The audiences will be ‘stamped’, which means a paster as a mark and souvenir will be given to every audience after appreciation.
During the installing process of the device, I got much help from many people including my teachers and classmates. Although I have met many difficulties, I never gave up. When problems were solved one after another, I got the great sense of satisfaction. After the exhibition, I realize that when you set up your mind to do something, you should persist on until it is finished. You should try to listen to other people's opinion and avoid working all by yourself regardless of others' suggestions.
During the trip to the northwest, I perceived the local humanistic feelings and the charm of the nature. Although we spent this travel in a hurry, what we saw, what we heard and what we felt were so impressive. Only by travelling can you know how large the world is.
